COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Dec 8th, 2023) – Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC announced today that Duke LaCroix would be returning for the 2024 season, pending league and federation approval.
“I am excited to be returning to Colorado Springs for another season. I felt good about the way the regular season ended but disappointed with coming up short for the playoffs,” said LaCroix. “It’s another foundation to build upon for the upcoming year. We have a staff and group of players who are hungry and willing to work for success. I look forward to the opportunity to improve on last season.”
LaCroix will be entering his second season with the Switchbacks. Throughout the 2023 season, LaCroix had an impactful mark on the pitch earning one goal, two assists, 34 clearances, and 21 interceptions in 24 appearances.
The New Jersey native played four years at the University of Pennsylvania and made several appearances in the Premier Development League for Ocean City Nor’easters, netting four goals.
After college, he joined the USL Championship League playing for Indy Eleven, Orange County SC, Reno 1868, and Sacramento Republic FC. During his two years at Sacramento, he gained one goal, had five assists, and held a passing accuracy of 80%.
“Duke has been a massive asset to the team and the culture within the building,” said Technical Director & Assistant Coach, James Chambers. “His performance towards the end of the season was exceptional. He is a leader within the group and drives our standards daily. We are very happy to have him return for 2024.”
