COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Dec, 1st, 2023) – The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC announced that they had signed Midfielder Aidan Rocha, previously from Loudoun United FC. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.
“I am extremely excited to be joining the club and grateful for such an opportunity to grow on and off the pitch in such an environment,” said Rocha regarding the announcement. “I can’t wait to meet all the players and staff, and further getting to work on bringing the fans a successful season in 2024. Let’s go! ”
Rocha, 22, joined Loudoun United FC in March 2023. For the 2023 season, Rocha was an impressive midfielder with two assists,15 key passes, 41 clearances, and a passing accuracy of 82.7%.
The Maryland native started his career at Georgetown University, where he had five goals and six assists in his 69 appearances. In 2023, he was selected 60th overall in the MLS SuperDraft by D.C. United and spent the preseason playing with them in the Coachella Valley Invitational.
“We are excited to get Aidan on board for 2024,” said Technical Director & and Assistant Coach, James Chambers. “He has a real tenacity to his game in midfield and can help dictate play with his technical abilities. He will bring a terrific energy and drive to the group and we look forward to helping him develop.”
