On Saturday October 16th members of the Switchbacks staff, along with Ziggy, attended Scheel’s annual Balltober Fest. Scheel’s partnered up with CSPD and KAT Country for the fundraiser. The nonprofit initiative being supported was the CSPD’s PLAY COS, which aims to create more opportunities for positive interactions between the police force and the community of Colorado Springs. Attendees were encouraged to bring or buy a new sports ball to donate to the foundation, which redistributes them to communities throughout the city of Colorado Springs.
The event, which went from 9AM-4PM saw hundreds of families and businesses come out to celebrate out community and have a fun time. Ziggy attended, as well as several other mascots from other local spots, like the SOCOCW moose, and Vibes mascot Toasty. The event was a great success and the CSPD was able to collect almost 150 sports ball for their program.
