Colorado Springs, CO (June 4th) – On Saturday the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC hosted the American Heart Association Heart Walk at Switchbacks Stadium. Over 4,000 participants turned out to walk and run in support of the fight against heart disease and stroke. It is one of three events the Heart Association hosts annually. The AHA was hoping to raise $200,000 at the event to help fight heart disease and stroke in Colorado with all of the money raised from the fundraising event staying in Colorado to help local Coloradans fight.
The Switchbacks hosted this event for the first time, having players Josh Phillips and Saeed Robinson interacting with the participants and Assistant Coach Wolde Harris leading them in a stretch before the walk started. Ziggy was also their interacting with young and old fans alike. The event was a huge success and one that the Switchbacks will likely be hosting in the future.
